About the Event
This Faculty Development Programme cum Workshop on “Satellite Navigation System for Engineers”was organized in view of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s Birthday Celebration and Space Week 2022 to enhance the knowledge on Satellite Navigation.
Day 1 (13.10.2022):The Program was started at 09:30AM on the first day with the welcome address by Dr. R. Mukesh, Aerospace Engineering. Then Dr. P. Theerthamalai, Dean,delivered the felicitation address.
There were four sessions handled by Dr. G. Raju, Professor of Aerospace Engineering, Jain University, Bangalore, Prof. P. Soma of Aeronautical Engineering, Dr.R.Mukesh, Aerospace Engineering and Dr.A.K. Sarkar, Professor of Aeronautical Engineering, ACSCE respectively as given in the schedule.
Day 2 (14.10.2022)The Second day was started on 09:30 am with the welcome address and introduction of the Chief Guest Mr. B.A. Subramani, Former Space Simulation Engineer, ISRO. The resource person has provided the hands-on training to the participants in satellite tracking and highlighted the following points,
- Amateur radio station set up
- Application of Satellite tracking
- Importance and Procedures of satellite tracking
- Real time tracking
- FM and AM signals
- Setting up Ground station using Antenna.

At the end of the session, students and Faculty members interacted with the resource person to clarify their doubts in the topic and the resource person motivated the students to enhance their skills and focus on space applications. Students expressed their gratitude that the program was highly informative and interesting. Finally, the session ended with the vote of thanks by Dr.R.Mukesh,Head of the Department.
