About the Programme:

A technical talk on “Challenges of Constructions and Timely Action of Civil Engineers – Need of the Hour” was delivered by Dr. Bharathi Ganesh, Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru in seminar hall 2 (second floor) of ACSCE for the benefit of civil engineering students and faculty members between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM under the auspices of civil engineering association (CORE). The challenges faced by civil engineers right from conception to construction of various types of projects were brought out in a very interesting and lucid manner with the aid of visuals. Several very interesting case studies were taken for discussion. These included Bhuj Khalifa Tower, Underground Tunnels, Underwater Constructions, Bridges, Flyovers Roads in difficult terrain etc. Another important component of the lecture was aimed at motivating the civil engineering students and the speaker spent considerable time with great success. The speaker addressed the queries raised by the students in a very satisfying and convincing manner. The students and the faculty members found the technical lecture quite informative, motivating and enlightening. The lecture was well attended and received by students. The speaker was kind enough to share the power point slides with the students and faculty members.
