About the Programme:

Institution Innovation councils at institutes are envisioned an instrumental role to drive innovation and startup ecosystem at campus while connecting with ecosystem enablers at regional and national level. MHRD’s Innovation Cell invited all IICs, those have upgraded/completed their council as per the IIC 2.0 norms to participate this training was hosted by ACS College of Engineering at Bangalore on 26th and 27th Feb 2020.

AICTE/MHRD’s Innovation Ambassador Training Program for SWRO organized by Institution Innovation Council and MHRD’s Innovation Cell and hosted by ACS College of Engineering on 26th and 27th February 2020 at ACS convention center, RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions. In the Inaugural function the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honor were welcomed on stage by the hosts. An invocation song was presented by the students of ACSCE to evoke the almighty. The program was started solemnly with the lightning of the lamp by the dignitaries.

The panel of Dignitaries consisted of Chief Guest Mr.B.Sampath Rao-Chief Scientist and Joint Head, CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Guest of Honour Mr. Dipan Kumar Sahu-National IIC Coordinator, Dr.K.Elangovan – Asst.Innovation Director, Mr.Pankaj Pandey- SWRO Zonal coordinator, Mr.Ankush Sharma –Innovation Officer and Distinguished Guests Dr.G.Srinivas Joint Secretary UGC, SWRO Bengaluru and Padmashree Prof. R.M. Vasagam, Former vice chancellor Anna University. The gathering was addressed in the presence of Dr.S.Vijayanand, Executive Director- RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions, Dr.S.Jeyabalan, Special officer- RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions, Sri.C.N Seetharam retd.IAS, and Dr.G.Vinoth, Executive Advisor-RajaRajeswari Business Incubator, Dr.T.Chandrasekar, Principal-RajaRajeswari College of Engineering. The welcome address was presented by Dr.M.S.Murali, Principal, ACS College of Engineering. He stated that he was honored to welcome the Guests and the gathering and was surprised by the enthusiasm and interest of the faculty members.

The Guests were felicitated by the Dr.S.Vijayanand, Executive Director- RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions, Sri C N Seetharaman Retd.IAS, Chief Executive Officer- RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions and Dr.Naveen S, Principal-RRMCH.

A special address was given by Dr G Vinoth, Executive Advisor, RRBI. He addressed the importance of the training program and the need for startups and existing potential opportunities in the current global market. He also thanked RRGI management for giving this opportunity to conduct the training program in our campus.

Presidential address was given by Dr.S.Vijayanand, Executive Director- RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions. He welcomed all the delegates, participants and thanked AICTE and MHRD’s Innovation Cell for giving opportunity to host this training program. He addressed the major achievements of RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions and he quoted Chairman Dr.A.C.Shanmugam’s motto which says that the institution wants to create job creators rather than job seekers highlighting the fact that our chairman too had envisioned innovation.

Keynote address was delivered by Mr.Dipan Kumar Sahu, National IIC Coordinator. He highlighted the work carried out by the Innovation Council under the Ministry of MHRD. He informed the fact that Indian HEIs are lacking in innovation and start-up mentor capacity to guide students on IPR, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Institutions Innovation council of MHRD’s Innovation Cell aims to build mentorship capacity of IIC members through a series of training programs and designate the trained IIC members as “IIC – Innovation Ambassador”.

Inaugural address was delivered by Dr.K.Elangovan, Asst.Innovation Director, MIC, Govt of India. He unveiled the training themes of the program. He addressed the role of mentor in their respective IICs, and how to support to other IICs as resource person in organizing various programs related to innovation and startup and spread the message of innovation & start-up among the students and faculties.

A brief speech about the Ambassador Training Program and role of an IIC’s Innovation Ambassador was delivered by Mr.Pankaj Pandey, SWRO Zonal coordinator. In his speech he urged to spread the message of innovation and start up among the students and faculties

Special Guest Mr.B.Sampath Rao-Chief Scientist and Joint Head, CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories addressed the importance of Innovation and entrepreneurship in our country. He stated our Prime minister’s vision towards Innovation and entrepreneurship in this event.

Distinguished Guest address was delivered by Dr.G.Srinivas Joint Secretary UGC, SWRO Bengaluru. He represented on this event on behalf of University Grants Commission. He addressed the important role of IIC’s and how to play as a mentor or guide young minds in their pursuit of Innovation and entrepreneurship and equally crucial for mentors to have the adequate mentoring skills. Finally a vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.T Chandrashekhar Principal RRCE. He acknowledged the efforts of volunteers, faculties and coordinators and thanked the esteemed guests for their presence. This was followed by the National Anthem being played as a tribute to our Nation.

Around 400+ faculty members were participated in this event from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Andhra institutions. Institution’s Innovation Council established institutions faculty members were nominated through IIC portal and Non IIC faculty members were registered through google form created by ACS College of Engineering.
