Industrial Visit to Exhibition of Defence Products for General Public & Students to Commemorate AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV

About the Program :

The industrial visit held on 18th December 2021 on account of Azadika Amrit Mahotsav was accompanied by 119 students and 3 professors from Aerospace Department, ACSCE.

All students were assembled at ACSCE at 9:00 AM and left the college at 9:30 AM on college bus. We reached ALIDSDA, DGQA, Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of India, Jalahalli camp road, Yeswanthpur, Bengaluru which was the venue at 11:00 AM .

The students were welcomed by Dr. Biswajit Choudhry, Senior Scientist officer, Department of Defense Production, DGAQA and gave some insights about what was going on in defense and the purpose of having the exhibition which was Atmanirbhar Bharath. Students were also motivated on making the country self-reliable on defense and related products.

Major inputs from this industrial visit include the following,

Getting to know about various defense related products.

  • Knowledge on Turbo cooling, Oil cooling in War tankers and Military Aircrafts.
  • Display of various electrical parts like single input multiple output devices, Auxiliary power units and various other power devices.
  • Explanation on Heat exchangers, cooling systems etc.
  • Exposure to mockup models of various Indian Airforce aircrafts like Sukhoi SU-30 MK1, Surya Kiran etc.
  • Knowledge on Indigenously developed Light combat Aircraft Tejas.
  • Glimpses on various missiles like Agni, Brahmos etc.
  • Real model of Oleo Strut landing gears used in aircrafts.
  • Working model of EO pod which consists of Laser rangers to aim at target, providing the additional sight to pilots.
  • Display of mockup model of one the IAF’s plane, Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules.
  • Display of current undergoing DRDO’s UAV named Rustom and its recent development.
  • Display of Anti-Missile carriers used in airrafts.
  • Knowledge on Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) developed by HAL, India.
  • Display of GHATAK- Unmanned Aerial Vehicle which is in developmental stage with its details.

The students left the premises at 3:30 PM after gaining knowledge about various fighter jets, helicopters and recently developed UAVs. Students got a chance to get to know about the various opportunities in defense sector and also gained the knowledge on India’s capabilities in becoming Self reliable. The students expressed their thanks to the principal, the faculty members and Management for organizing the industry visit.
